2018 Apple Scrapple Festival on October 12th and 13th

Our next meeting is July 24, 2018, 7pm at the Bridgeville Library. Due to scheduling conflicts, the meeting has been moved up one week. As always, we are looking for volunteers to assist the Festival. Please consider joining us and giving back to our community.

Kiwanis Home Decorating Contest

Kiwanis Home Decorating Contest

The Kiwanis Club sponsors the Apple Scrapple Home Decorating Contest. Registration is not required. All decorations mst be within keeping of the Apple Scrapple theme by using apples and scrapple or a fascimilie of each. Contest winners will be announced Friday evening at the main stage. Judging will be completed on Thursday, therefore it is important to have your decorations in place by the Wednesday before the festival.

Invitational Scrapple Sling

Invitational Scrapple Sling

You won’t want to miss the Invitational Scrapple Sling. This event is by “invitation only”, join us as local and state representatives compete for the coveted Scrapple Sling trophy! You never know who may be slinging scrapple; from our Sussex County Council members, local mayors, pageant queens, to County and State officials. The sling will take place on Saturday at approximately 2 p.m. at the stage area, behind the fire hall. Come out and support your favorite. Who will take home the trophy this year? Ladies Skillet Toss, Scrapple Chunkin' Contest, and Kids Apple Toss

Ladies Skillet Toss, Scrapple Chunkin' Contest, and Kids Apple Toss

These signature events feature contestants chunkin' scrapple "shot-put" style, tossing iron skillets, and tossing apples! Prizes are awarded to the top finishers in each event. These events will be held on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm at a NEW LOCATION: 2 N. Laws Street by the cemetary gate! Registration begins at 1:00 for the Apple Toss, 1:30 for the Skillet Toss, and 2:30 for the Scrapple Chunkin' Contest.

St. Mary's Episcopal Church

St. Mary's Episcopal Church

St. Mary's Episcopal Church on North William Street will serve a chili luncheon from 11 am to 3 pm. The lunch will consist of homemade chili, chicken salad sandwiches, rolls, and beverages. The ladies of the church will also hold a bake sale from 10 am to 3 pm. Also check out the quilt display.

Trade Show

Lots and lots of vendors, both individuals and businesses, will be showcasing their services and wares. The show, held on Delaware Avenue and Laws Street, begins bright and early at 9 am on Saturday and runs until around 4 pm.

5K Hogg Jogg

5K Hogg Jogg

The 5K Hogg Jogg sponsored by Pohanka Nissan of Salisbury will be held at the Heritage Shores Sugar Beet Market and the course will run through the Heritage Shores community and golf course. On site registration begins at 7:15 am and the race begins at 8:00 am. Fee: $15. A t-shirt will be awarded to all runners with special awards to top female and male finishers in each age group.
