Apple-Scrapple Festival Special Events

  • Food, Food, & More FOOD!
    The food court is one of our main attractions, with everything from apple dumplings to scrapple sandwiches, wings, fries, pies, funnel cakes, oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, BBQ, cheesesteaks and more! The apple dumplings served with ice cream are one of the most popular. Quench your thirst with Pepsi beverages, our official beverage sponsor of the festival. The Union United Methodist Men sponsor an “All You Can Eat” Breakfast on Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of the Methodist Church on Laws Street from 7-11 am on Saturday.
  • Car Show
    Hosted by the Southern Delaware Street Rod Association from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday.    Registration opens at 7:30 am on Delaware Ave.; judging 1:00 - 3:00 (must be registered by 1:00 pm); awards 3:30 pm at Stage.  Open to street rods, customs, pro-street, antiques, classics, muscle cars, special interest, 4x4, new cars & trucks, motorcycles (no motor homes or campers).  $10.00 registration fee.  For more information contact Donnie Beauchamp at 302-349-4221.
  • Little Miss Apple Scrapple
    This event will be held on Friday, October 12 at 6:30pm on the main stage behind the Bridgeville Fire Hall. Click here for official entry and information packet.
  • Library Carnival
    Ride the rides and help support the Bridgeville Library! Thursday night is our Hometown Carnival night from 4-9pm. Enjoy all the rides with an $18 all you can ride bracelet. Friday night from 4-10pm, ride the rides with a $20 one price bracelet. Saturday, the rides are open from 9:30 am to 11 pm. Tickets are $1 each or buy a family pack of tickets for $25.
  • 5K Hogg Jogg
    This event is held at Woodbridge Farm/Athletic Field on Saturday beginning at 9 am. On site registration is from 7:30-8:50am. Fee: $10.   • Senior Center (Outside) Craft Show

  • Trade Show
    Lots and lots of vendors, both individuals and businesses, will be showcasing their services and wares. The show, held on Delaware Avenue and Laws Street, begins bright and early at 9 am on Saturday and runs until around 5 pm.   • Health & Safety Fair

  • St. Mary's Epispocal Church
    St. Mary's Episcopal Church on North William Street will serve a chili luncheon from 11 am to 3 pm. The lunch will consist of homemade chili, chicken salad sandwiches, rolls, and beverages. The ladies of the church will also hold a bake sale from 10 am to 3 pm. Also check out the vendors and quilt display.
  • Ladies Skillet Toss and Scrapple Chunkin' Contest
    These signature events feature contestants chunkin' packages of scrapple "shot-put" style. There are four categories for the Chunk contest" Adult Male, Adult Female, Youth Male, and Youth Female. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each category.   • Mayor's Scrapple Sling
    This event is open to all mayors or presidents of councils in Sussex County and to our Sussex County Councilmen and will be held on Saturday, October 12. Bragging rights are always on the line to see who will hold the title of “King of Sling” for the upcoming year, as the contestants see how far they can sling packages of delicious scrapple The event takes place on Saturday at the stage area behind the Fire Hall.   • Apple Baking Contest
    Sponsored by TS Smith & Sons.  Deadline for entries is Friday, Oct. 4 at 11 AM.  For more information call 302-337-8271 or online at www.tssmithandsons.com. Winners announced on the main stage on Friday at 4:30 pm.  Prizes awarded.
  • "Fun on the Farm" at T.S. Smith & Sons
    Visit Delaware's oldest and Sussex County's only commercial apple orchard for tours, demonstrations, exhibits, wagon rides, free samples, and more! Free transportation will be provided between the farm and PNC Bank.
  • Children's Area
    On Saturday from 9am to 4pm, children can enjoy pony rides, face painting, moon bounce, games and so much more at the children's area located beside the Bridgeville Police Department. Check out the newly re-designed Sussex County Bookmobile and discover all the cool things your Sussex County Libraries offer!
  • Kiwanis Home Decorating Contest
    The Kiwanis Club sponsors the Apple Scrapple Home Decorating Contest. Registration is not required. All decorations mst be within keeping of the Apple Scrapple theme by using apples and scrapple or a fascimilie of each. Contest winners will be announced Friday evening at the main stage. Judging will be completed on Thursday, therefore it is important to have your decorations in place by Wednesday, October 9th
